Nanci Joins Pacifica Radio Conversation on Reproductive Justice

On Tuesday, November 15, Nanci E. Luna Jiménez, LJIST Founder and President, and Lourdes Rivera, Senior Vice President, U.S. Programs at the Center for Reproductive Rights, were highlighted as leading forces in the Women’s Rights and Reproductive Justice Movements during the Pacifica Radio Archives National Broadcast.

Hosted by María Elena Fernández and Victoria Fernández, their words joined the Pacifica Radio Archives alongside some of the great voices that have been heard on their radio stations since 1949, including bell hooks, Barbara Ehrenreich, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, Bob Dylan, Cesar Chavez, Dolores Huerta, Malcolm X, James Baldwin, Allen Ginsberg, Alan Watts, Fannie Lou Hamer, John Coltrane, Langston Hughes, Leonard Cohen, Maya Angelou, and so many others whose voices have changed the world. 

The Pacifica Radio Archives is considered by historians and scholars to be one of the most important audio collections in the world. The Pacifica Radio Archives chronicles the political cultural and artistic movements in the United States. Their National Broadcast and Fundraiser Gala will help raise funds for the Pacifica Radio Archives to continue its work providing these materials that benefit schools, universities, students, and listeners around the world.
